This comment is so meaningful for *me* and *my* life. Thank you, sincerely. I am sorry that we share so much pain, but I hope by staying connected we can heal together, Shirley. I see you and I feel for your losses. Sending love xoxo -Emily
Thank you, Jan. I appreciate that you have taken time out of your day to read my work. This review means so much to me. I look forward to sharing more with you. Have a good evening. -Emily
The fractured photo matches right up with the poem. I am captured by the lines “My adoptee affections polarize realities, that cause reactions that unjustly inflict pain.” May your kin learn not to inflict pain on you (I know I’m doing my damnedest to avoid inflicting pain on my own kin). Well done, Emily!!!
Thank you, Peg! I have never written any form of poetry before, so this is a new form of expression for me! I appreciate you reading and resonating with my work. Validation is healing! Sending love to you! -Emily
Sending it right back to you, Emily. My “gateway drug” for poetry was “Poetry in Motion” on the NYC subways. I look for poems that open my eyes and at the same time shine a light on a my own life.
This is so meaningful for me and my life.
